Ballroom Dancing Lessons in Houston at Houston Ballroom Dance for Beginners.
Dances we teach at Houston Ballroom Dance Studio include International and American Styles of Ballroom Dancing. Dances include: Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Quickstep. International styles require that partners stay in a close hold. The Aerican Ballroom style is also know as "Fred & Ginger" style. In this style, partners may separate and dance in a open hold or side by side. Both styles are fun and have their own benefits. But a majority of our students learn social ballroom dancing. This is what is most common at Weddings , Social Clubs, and Parties.
We also teach social dances like the foxy, a simple slow dance, and night club
2-step. Most students do not learn for competition or show. Most of our students learn for fun and recreation. How far you decide to take your dancing is your choice. If you prefer to learn competitive ballroom, please let us know. We do have a few instructors that specialize in these styles as well.
Our lesson plans are simple! You can take a little or as many lessons as you feel comfortable. Learn at a pace that works for you. Everyone dances for a different reason: Some dance to impress others or themselves, Some dance to learn a new skill, Dancing is also a great social outlet, ballroom dancing can improve posture, poise, confidence, and overall physical and mental health.
